I don’t know about everyone else, but I get emotionally drained pretty quickly. If I have to spend the day talking with people, I get home and I am in a ~mood~. Or if I work too hard for too long ~mood~. So how do we lift this ~mood~?

We talk a lot about hard work and achieving goals. But there is a way for it to be easier and to become a better part of your life. By making your goals into habits. Some goals are designed to be put into a routine, such as eating healthier or exercising, and others require a bit more creativity to incorporate into our everyday. So how do we create a routine with our goals in mind and stick to it?

 

We must make our goals into habits.

 

The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg is a very good book to read if you want to learn about habits and how we can change them. The basic principle of the book is that habits are created through what Duhigg describes as the “habit loop.”

How to Stick to Your Goals

So we went through the motions and have went from vague wants to achievable goals. We have a plan about what we want to do and how we are going to achieve these wants. But how do we stick to our goals?

 

Sometimes, we start strong and blow everything out of the park until we feel burnt out. This may cause us to lose that first spark of motivation to continue to complete a goal. That initial flicker of desire dwindling to mere smoke. Or maybe we can’t find that spark and have trouble starting at all.
