bridge jumping

i dust of the dirt from today’s haul.
the shovel hasn’t given up yet.
another burial.
i’ve always said i’d be there.
when everyone else has gone
and damaged your heart,
we’ll bury them like the rest
and move on.

am i the only one who sees
the spectrum of your true colors?
the one that graces the sky,
the passion s many overlook.
i won’t let it slip, forgotten
into the ruts of the outcast.

i’ll follow your rainbow trail
to the bridge, placing the shovel upright,
a memory of our past grievances,
and we’ll jump together.
