February Chat

February is such a busy month for me. I didn’t really do or see much. Between my birthday, my cat’s birthday, a small Valentine’s, and my anniversary, it just gets a little hectic. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have a few things to share and talk to you about!

Movies

I saw two movies: The Truman Show and Ten Cloverfield Lane. I honestly cannot believe I never saw The Truman show before because I have seen and loved so many Jim Carrey movies. It was still good even after all this time.

Ten Cloverfield Lane was a little weird at the end. If the story ended before the aliens it would have been a good movie. But I also have not see the other Cloverfields and know nothing about whatever “universe” has been created with them. Just thinking it would have made a perfectly fine psychopath movie.

Books

I only had a chance to finish reading one book. I read Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. It was a different take on how inspiration works and how the artist should be more positive about their work instead of the artsy angst that has been associated with creativity for so long. The change of perspective was nice because I, too, would also like to not suffer all the time for the sake of art. It’s a good read for anyone who wants to live a creative life.

Beauty

This Becca highlighter is so pretty. I love pink-toned highlighters because it gives my face a bit of color along with shine. And the case is pretty; it looks like a UFO. What more could you want?

I have switched to cotton pads. I did a post recently about my experience with them, but they deserve a mention here too. So comfortable and better for the environment. And I don’t think they are that pricey for what they are.

I also switched deodorants to a more natural one. I have heard and read too many bad things about traditional women’s deodorants between aluminum and antiperspirant. Honestly, I don’t mind sweating, I think it’s natural. I just wanted to control for smell. And I have found one that does that! I tried Tom’s before, and the product smelled weird, made me smell weird, and felt weird to put on. BUT Schmidt’s deodorant is like relieving cream for under your arms and it smells lovely. I have only used the rose and vanilla scent, and I love it. Will definitely be trying the other scents.

I got contacts and I can’t get them in my eyes. I have baby eyes and the contact just won’t fit. I’m still working on it.

The Fresh Rose Face Mask is infused with real rose petals and hydrates and tones the face. And it does! I was using a clay mask once in awhile, then read that kind of mask isn’t always the best for dry faces. This one makes my skin feel hydrated and feels nice when going on. It doesn’t tighten up or feel uncomfortable. I had a bit of a rose theme going for February that was completely unintentional.

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep conditioning mask is what this damaged hair needs. I dye my hair probably more often than I should, so my hair could use some extra help! When My hair is feeling dry and I get a little too crazy with the hot tools (not often, but on dyed hair, the effects can still come through), this mask brings my hair back from the straw-like dead.

Lifestyle

Lastly, I have to talk about this. This cute little glow cat. I friend bought this for me for my birthday, and she didn’t even know it was on my Amazon wishlist. I like to turn it on while I read or am just relaxing. It’s very calming. Let me know in the comments what I should name it, by the way. I just call it my glow cat at the moment.

Excellent blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many
choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..
Any recommendations? Thanks a lot! http://Neustitoutin.mihanblog.com/post/91
