So here we are, it’s December already and you still have to find gifts! But where do you look? What stores are hiding all the cool gifts?
I always have a problem when it comes to gift-giving because I don’t only want to get someone something cool, but I want to give them something than can use. It’s a great gift to me if they can use it daily or at least on a semi-regular basis.
However, sometimes cool trinkets work too. Or even functional cool trinkets.
Anyway, so where do we find these items? Google search?
My friends, this is where Amazon’s new-ish feature “Interesting finds” comes in. Let me tell you how many hours I have wasted – actually let’s not. The amount of time I spent browsing cat products is actually embarrassing. But you can find so many cool items by using this feature.
Best part? The products pictures are in square boxes with a white background and the screen isn’t littered with other information so you can focus on looking at the products. There are even themed lists made by people like a list for dog-lovers, video-game lovers, etc.
Another place to check for cool pieces is Etsy. Support artists by buying their stuff! You can find cool jewelry pieces, hair accessories, basically one-of-a-kind items. Some artists even offer customizable options as well.
Artfire is a similar website to Etsy where you can find more original works by artists. So if you are looking for some quality handmade items, but don’texactly have the artistic skills yourself, this is
a good place to look other than Etsy. Honestly, who wouldn’t enjoy a pice of artwork for the Holidays though? Customizable gifts, original jewelry, really one-of-a-kind pieces that say, “Hey, I went above and beyond to find an original piece for you because mainstream jsut wouldn’t do.”
There is also this website called Oddity Mall that has weird but cool gadgets and whatnot that might be worth checking out. So if you are looking for something for that weirdo in your life, this is the place to check out.
Ebay or Craigslist is also a good place to look if you are willing to sit through bid wars and potential weirdos. But hey, maybe there is something there.
And last but not least, we cannot forget Skymall. The best place to browse for neat and unusual items. There really is something for everyone here. And you don’t even have to be on a plane to browse anymore.
Of course, with the scope of the Internet, there are hundreds of potential places to buy cool gifts online. Don’t forget to check around your own town to see if there are any cute boutiques or small businesses that may have just the item you are looking for as well.
